The Sun Koshi is the longest trip in river miles offered in Nepal and is rated as one of the top ten river expeditions in the world.
Starting near the Tibetan border and draining off the Eastern Himalayas all the way to the sacred Ganges River in India, this river offers big volume whitewater. A journey down this “river of gold” impresses any paddling enthusiast with relaxing canyons, refreshing waterfalls, bat caves, interesting temples, beautiful white sandy beaches for setting up camp and of course a great variety of whitewater.
If you are looking for a long river expedition with a nice variety of scenery and access to villages along the way, then the “river of gold” is a classic choice.

- Items of a personal nature including swimwear, towel and toiletries
- Insurance **we provide insurance for our crew – but participants must be properly insured through an emergency medical travel plan**
- Tips for guides **if you feel that our crew did a great job, you are invited but not obligated to offer a personal tip**
What to Bring
- Shorts / ½ pants
- T-shirts
- Sport sandals or comfortable shoes that can get wet and will stay on your feet
- Polypropylene / quick dry long shirts
- Swimwear
- Track pants / comfortable long pants
- Warm fleece
- Jacket (waterproof shell)
- Socks
- Shoes (not essential – do not bring big trekking boots)
- Pyjamas (something comfortable to sleep in)
- Warm hat (in cold months)
- Travel towel
- Personal toiletries
- Sunscreen / sunscreen lip protection
- Mosquito repellant

- Head lamp / flash light
- Personal first aid kit
