The Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) has successfully concluded a detailed assessment of rafting and kayaking rivers in Nepal. The attached report concludes that all official commercial rivers are safe and open for whitewater adventures post the April 25th 2016 earthquake.
The team took several months to carefully assess all the rivers, waiting for aftershocks to settle to before officially declaring the industry open for business as usual. Minor changes to rivers were noted on some rivers typical of post monsoon floods, but no unacceptable hazards have been found.
Thank you to members of NARA and HRGAN for your thorough collaboration with local river guides and private companies to complete this well researched report and bring confidence back to the safety in our whitewater adventure tourism industry in Nepal.
